Sánchez says that financing is a priority but justifies his delay by

The reform of the regional financing system has finally come onto the scene. The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, mentioned for the first time the main Valencian demand during the second day of the debate on the State of the Nation. After the deputy for Compromís Joan Baldoví reminded him that it is "scandalous and shameful" that nothing has changed since the last debate was held seven years ago -with Rajoy in La Moncloa-, Sánchez admitted that "it is true, the reform is a of pending tasks.

The leader of the PSOE has defended that the change in the financing model "is one of our priorities", although he has justified his delay: "You can understand that we have faced multiple very intense crises throughout these two years". As a palliative measure, Sánchez stressed that the delay in the reform "has been offset by the transfer of extraordinary resources."

In this line, Sánchez, who had the lesson learned and the data noted in his notebook, has argued that in the General State Budgets there are 1,530 million euros for the Valencian Community (25.6% more). It has also indicated that the autonomy will have 1,200 million direct investments and with transfers worth 269 million euros, which represents 11.4% of the total, thus exceeding the population weight when making the distribution established by the Statute Valencian.

Likewise, Sánchez, who in his speech on the first day made no mention of the reform of the system, reminded Baldoví of the steps taken by the Executive to reform the model. The President of the Government explained that in 2018 the recommendations of the experts were analyzed, they were submitted to the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council (CPFF) and the Ministry of Finance made a proposal on the adjusted population so that the autonomies could make their contributions and observations. .

"We are going to continue working on drawing up that reform, but you can understand that we have had to face very intense crises in recent years," Sánchez concluded.
