Sánchez encourages the PSOE to accelerate before the new electoral cycle: "We want to win!"

"From this moment, the PSOE has a clear priority: to win the elections." Pedro Sánchez has urged all the socialists and all the federations, this Saturday in his speech before the party's federal committee, to get their act together, to take action and to step on the accelerator before the new electoral cycle that starts in the municipal and regional elections in May of next year and culminate in the general elections scheduled for December 2023. "We want to win!", he encouraged. “We know how to do it, we are the party that has done it the most times throughout democracy in our country. We did it in 2019 and we are going to do it again, I have no doubt, in 2023”, insisted the leader of the PSOE, to try to neutralize the framework of a change in the political cycle throughout Spain that Alberto Núñez Feijóo encourages by front of the People's Party.

Sánchez has welcomed the new additions to the socialist sanhedrin that the federal committee ratifies today -María Jesús Montero, Pilar Alegría and Patxi López-, and has thanked the leaders whom they will replace -Adriana Lastra, Felipe Sicilia and Héctor Gómez-, with a call for socialist unity in order to win the elections "working together, as a team." The socialist leader, yes, has warned that the organization and the militancy have to mobilize to the maximum. “We have to go for it all”, he highlighted.

"Now it's time to put one more march", Sánchez underlined, and pointed out that during the year and a half that remain until the general elections, the task is enormous. He has thus listed some new general state budgets for 2023, the future of the war in Ukraine, the runaway increase in inflation, municipal and regional elections, the Spanish presidency of the EU in the second half of next year. “Well, almost nothing. But, let's go for it all! ”, He has demanded.

The President of the Government has taken advantage of his speech before the federal committee to announce that, next week, the two coalition partners, the PSOE and United We Can, will register a bill in Congress that will articulate the new taxes on benefits extraordinary banking and large energy corporations, with which he wants to raise up to 7,000 million euros in two years. Sánchez has confirmed that this bill will prohibit these companies from passing on their new costs to users, as the right wing denounces.

"Governing is choosing, and we socialists choose to protect the middle and working class," Sánchez justified. "We socialists know how to protect and transform," she insisted. "There is no progress without social justice, there is no progress if it is at the expense of the majority." His response, he has reiterated, will be diametrically opposed to that of the PP government in the face of the financial crisis, in the midst of "illicit behavior", he has criticized in reference to corruption cases. “We are not going to do what the PP governments did with the crises, be weak with the strong and strong with the weak. We have a clear route and priorities. We are going to govern to move the country forward, guided by the general interest. We are going to govern for the social majority. And when it is necessary to choose, we will always be on the side of those who need the help of public powers, even if doing so makes it uncomfortable for the most powerful”, Sánchez promised, to loud applause from the PSOE federal committee.
