Sánchez debuts the motto of the PSOE pre-campaign for 28-M: "Defend what you think"

"Stand up for what you think." This is the motto of the PSOE pre-campaign for the municipal and regional elections on May 28 that Pedro Sánchez will premiere tomorrow Saturday, during his intervention at the closing of the municipal convention that the Andalusian socialists celebrate in Huelva. The new image of the PSOE for this 28-M contest will also be presented at the event, as well as its first electoral video.

The pre-campaign motto, according to the PSOE leadership, "is a call to reflection, to confront the facts against hoaxes, useful politics against empty insults and disqualification" attributed to the right. Also, they say, a call to "mobilize citizens around the defense of the main demands of society." "We progressives are clear that the policies we want, what we think, can only be implemented if the PSOE rules in the institutions, also in town halls and autonomous communities," say Ferraz's strategists.

"In the face of noise and insult, the PSOE is committed to useful politics," they defend. A useful policy to which Pedro Sánchez himself always appeals and which, as they emphasize, "has an effect on people's lives and coincides with the main demands and aspirations of the citizenry." Hence, the PSOE affirms: "What you think matters." “This idea opposes the postulates of a right and an extreme right with a hidden agenda, which they do not talk about and which involves disarming the social shield raised by the socialists, dismantling the public and returning to the law of the strongest. He saves himself who can ”, they affirm.

Faced with the electoral contest of 28-M, the PSOE claims to be "convinced of the strength of its mayors and regional presidents, as well as its candidates." "They - they warn - are the protagonists of these elections." According to the numbers they use, more than 20.5 million Spaniards have a socialist mayor. In addition, the PSOE has nine regional presidents and a vice-presidency in the twelve communities where elections are held on May 28. The Socialists also preside over 23 of the 41 provincial councils, three councils and three island councils, in addition to holding the vice-presidency of Melilla.

"This institutional strength and the work carried out makes the PSOE compete in the elections with the best, both for its management and for its future projects", they affirm in the direction of Ferraz. “We aspire to exceed the 7,500 candidacies presented for the next municipal elections throughout Spain, to once again be the first force in number of candidacies presented and win the elections as in 2019”, they trust.

The PSOE will also present its first electoral video at this event in Huelva, directed by the director Santiago Zannou, winner of a Goya award for best new director for the feature film El truco del manco.

This video, they say in the PSOE, "is a statement of progressive pride, because it is progressive ideas that have transformed and continue to transform our country, our autonomous communities and our towns and cities".

“Thanks to the encouragement of millions of Spaniards, these ideas have become a reality, and very advanced laws have been approved, such as the law for the Regulation of Euthanasia, the establishment of a Minimum Vital Income or the equalization of maternity and paternity, among many other legislative initiatives ”, highlight the Socialists.

This first electoral video, they say, "is also a call to continue thinking differently and to defend those ideas, because much remains to be done and Spain cannot afford even a step back in the next municipal and regional elections on May 28".
