Sónar 2023 bets on electronics and the festive

The Sónar festival today presents the first 66 artists that will perform in its thirty-year anniversary edition. An invitation that will take place on June 15, 16 and 17 of the year and that will offer more than 100 live shows and DJ sets.

The festival of music, creativity and technology reveals today the first 66 names of an eminently festive and electronic line-up. In other words, it will play all genres of electronic music, both in the most festive sounds focused on the dance floor and in the exploration of new avant-garde sounds.

Among the names revealed, renowned figures intersect with a new batch of avant-garde artists, including Bicep, Fever Ray, Peggy Gou, Solomun, Oneohtrix Point Never, Amelie Lens or Honey Dijon.

An amalgamation that guarantees fun and a quality bar, as can also be seen in other names such as Laurent Garnier, Shygirl, Richie Hawtin, The Blessed Madonna, Max Cooper, Kode9, Logic1000, Erika de Casier, Ryoji Ikeda or Lucrecia Dalt.

Entering more closely, the announced proper names show a multitude of angles. For example, the return of three cult artists including versatile producer Oneohtrix Point Never, geneticist-turned-musician Max Cooper and legendary Japanese sound and visual artist Ryoji Ikeda.

Or the very clear commitment to festive and dance rhythms, beginning with Bicep, the British duo that in a decade has gone from the underground to filling stadiums. To these we must add the proposals of contemporary house and disco by the South Korean Peggy Gou and the Americans Honey Dijon and The Blessed Madonna.

On the other hand, Solomun's deep house and melodic techno that fills stages around the world will finally debut at the festival. And also stirring bodies and souls will be the well-known proposal by Amelie Lens, who will fill the SonarClub with her acid and accelerated techno.

This commitment to some of the great current figures of the electronic scene will be completed with two great acquaintances of the house such as Laurent Garnier and Richie Hawtin.

There will also be audiovisual unions by the composer and pianist Carles Viarnès and the visual artist Alba G. Corral, as well as the Barcelona duo Desert. Another experimental collaboration will be that of Santiago Latorre

Within the wide range of sections and stylistic and sound sections, the fan also comes across some alternative visions of pop proposed by singers and composers such as Erika de Casier, Perera Elsewhere and Crystal Murray.

And already within the scope of club music, there will be several live performances, such as that of the British rapper Shygirl, the atypical Charlotte Adigéry

Enric Palau, co-director of Sónar, explains about the characteristics of this special edition that "the 30th anniversary of the festival will have a purely electronic line-up, which wants to celebrate club culture, the figure of the DJ as a cultural vehicle of our time and the diversity of sounds that are the protagonists of the current electronic music scene".

On the other hand, and to offer a completely different experience, some new features are also announced at Sónar by Day, such as the redesign of formats and spaces such as its emblematic SonarVillage.

The other backbone of the festival, Sónar D 2023, will once again be the unmissable annual event for professionals from the creative industries, art, science and technology and the space for the exchange of ideas and collaborations and co-creations in these fields. .

In this next edition, Sónar D will offer exclusively for accredited members a special program of masterclasses, conferences, demonstrations and meetings starting early in the morning: Thursday June 15 will be dedicated to innovation in music, and Friday June 16 will will focus on the interrelationships between art, technology, science and society.

Until this Sunday, December 4 at 11:59 p.m., Season Tickets, VIP Season Tickets and Accreditations for this edition will be on sale at a special price. Already on Monday, December 5, they will be sold at their usual price.
