Short-term professional training is consolidated as a way to recycle and specialize in the workplace

In a constantly changing world, professionals have the challenge of being permanently updated and attentive to innovations in their sector. For this reason, continuing and professional training is increasingly in demand and is more necessary to respond to the needs of companies.

This is confirmed by the TecnoCampus de Mataró, which since January 2021 has opted for permanent training with HUB4T, the new center for postgraduate studies and continuous training, which wants to become a reference center in this field thanks to an offer Innovative and training for professionals and companies.

With this goal in mind, HUB4T has now launched a new short-term and clearly professional training offer. It is a series of short courses that are part of the fields of specialization of the TecnoCampus: technology, business and health.

These courses, they explain from the HUB4T, complement the current master's and postgraduate programming. Its objective is to respond to the training needs of professionals to meet the demands of the business world and society as a whole, beyond official studies.

According to a WEF report, in the next 10 years 85 million jobs will be displaced and half of current jobs will need to upgrade their skills.

That is why concepts such as reskilling (professional retraining) or upskilling (additional training to acquire new skills) are beginning to gain relevance.

Responding to this need for professional recycling is the starting point of the new training launched by TecnoCampus, in response to the current trend of developing training that allows for constant updating and, at the same time, maintaining student commitment and their degree. of motivation.

Throughout the 22-23 academic year, HUB4T Tecnocampus has programmed more than 10 specialization courses in the fields of health, technology and business. These courses are presented in different delivery modalities: face-to-face, blended and online.

One of the courses offered is Digital Traffic Management and Online Publicity. Its coordinator, Pedro Rojas, comments that in some cases, these capsules can be more interesting than taking an entire master's program: "when you look at the modular program and see that there are already things you know, there are those who prefer a specialization on a subject" .

Consultant in Social Media Marketing and Digital Strategy, professor of the Master's in Digital Marketing and HR 2.0 at different universities and business schools in Spain and author of various books, Pedro Rojas knows that specializing in a specific aspect "has more professional opportunities ”. He gives the example of online advertising, a very specific and specialized area with a lot of demand.

With this level of specialization, a professional can dedicate himself to this work as a freelancer and offer his knowledge to different companies. In this sense, it indicates that, with this specific knowledge, you can join other professionals specialized in related aspects and create a kind of service agency to offer other companies. “Many companies look for specific solutions and hire by objectives or campaigns,” he says.

Within the field of health, a specialization course in high-performance physical preparation in team sports is also offered. Its coordinator, Roger Font, believes that these specialization courses "give a realistic vision": "When you take a master's degree or a longer course, a lot of theoretical knowledge comes out," he explains. With a specialization course, this knowledge can be grounded and applied in a more practical and realistic way, he assures. In addition, they also allow the person to see if they can function in that specific specialty.

Font, who is also a National Handball Coach and physical trainer for various teams, explains that one of the successes of these courses is that they are short capsules that can be done quickly.
