Agents of the National Police have arrested a 50-year-old woman in Alzira as the alleged perpetrator of a theft crime, after apparently stealing money and jewelry from the home where she worked as a domestic worker for a value of more than 8,000 euros.

The investigations began after receiving a complaint from the owner of an apartment for the theft of 2,300 euros in cash, which were inside a bedroom closet, as well as numerous jewels valued at more than 6,000 euros, kept in the desk in the same room.

The agents found out that the housekeeper, who had worked in it for only three days, would have stolen both the money and the jewelry, the Police reported in a statement.

The events would have occurred while the owner was at home, but in a different room, noticing the theft a posteriori, when the worker was no longer in the flat.

For all these reasons, the agents located the suspect and arrested her as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of theft. The arrested woman, with a police record, has gone to court.
