The driver of an electric scooter has been seriously injured after colliding with a bus this Thursday night on Gran Via, in the heart of Barcelona. The accident, which occurred around 11 p.m., forced health care to urgently transfer the injured woman to the Clínic hospital in the Catalan capital.
The bus with which the accident occurred is a NitBus on Line N1 that was traveling along Gran Via in the direction of Llobregat, towards Mercabarna. The Accident Investigation and Prevention Unit of the Urban Police (UIPA) is taking charge of the case and they affirm that the causes of the impact between both vehicles are still unknown.
In 2022, 299 electric scooter accidents were reported throughout Spain and, unfortunately, these accidents resulted in 12 deaths. According to records, most of them involved collisions with cars, accounting for 89% of the accidents.
