Sergio Ramos: "Unfortunately I will have to watch the World Cup from home"

Sergio Ramos, who is in his second season at PSG, posted a statement this morning on social networks lamenting his absence from Luis Enrique's list for the Qatar World Cup: "It was one of those big dreams I had to fulfill. It was the fifth, but unfortunately I'll have to watch it from my house", writes the Sevillian centre-back.

Ramos also comments that last season he went through an ordeal with injuries but that this season he is fully recovered. Now he is the undisputed starter at PSG: "Last season was tough, due to injuries and adapting to a new club and a different city. I worked body and soul to recover and feel like myself again, guided by the objectives and illusions that one always marks and proposes. Fortunately I can say that this season I feel myself again and I enjoy football, my club and a great city like Paris", he assures.

The player says goodbye commenting that not going to Qatar will not lower his spirits: "It's hard, but every day the sun rises again. Absolutely nothing will change in me. Neither my mentality nor my passion nor my perseverance nor the effort and the dedication of 24 hours thinking about football. This is my feeling and I wanted to share it with you. Thank you all for the love, there are many challenges and goals to meet. See you soon, "he says.

And it ends with a message of encouragement to those who are going to Qatar: "I wish you the best. Come on, Spain!"
