The Catalan coach Sergio González will continue to direct Cádiz for another season, once their permanence in the First Division materialized in a heart-stopping last day in which they achieved victory in Vitoria with a goal from Lozano.
The club's agreement with González included the automatic renewal in case of salvation, which he has achieved after arriving last January when the Cádiz team was in relegation places. Upon arrival, Cádiz was penultimate in the standings after twenty games with only 14 points.
After the 38 games played, the people from Cádiz have been saved in seventeenth place with 39 points, so Sergio González's balance has been twenty-five units in eighteen games, achieved in six wins, seven draws and only five losses.
The Catalan coach, who previously managed Espanyol and Valladolid, is the seventh coach to save Cádiz from relegation in the First Division.
Previously, it was achieved, in two stages each, by the men of the house David Vidal and Ramón Blanco, in addition to the Asturian Francisco García 'Paquito', the Uruguayan Víctor Espárrago, the British Colin Addison and the hero of the last ascent, Álvaro Cervera.
