Searching and capturing the man convicted of killing his wife in Collado Villalba in 2017

This Tuesday, the Provincial Court of Madrid ordered the search and capture, both in national and international territory, of David Arellano Martín, who is missing after being sentenced to 22 years in prison for killing his wife in the town. from Collado Villalba in May 2017.

After not being able to locate him at his home, the judge of section 27 of the Madrid Court has requested that the State security forces and bodies search for Arellano in national territory, whose whereabouts are unknown so that he can be detained, as well such as the issuance of a European arrest and surrender order.

The car has been sent to the International Cooperation Division of the National Police (CENCI), in charge of making requests to Interpol, Europol, Sirene and the rest of the police personnel deployed abroad to find Arellano's whereabouts.

In fact, in an order dated October 25, the president of the court indicated that repeated reports from the police in the Madrid towns of Collado Villalba and Galapagar stated that the summons to David Arellano to notify him of the sentence could not be carried out and the measures regarding his youngest daughter.

The man, a 49-year-old Spaniard, was already sentenced in September 2020 for these events by the Provincial Court to 21 years in prison, but due to irregularities of the previous jury, the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid (TSJM) annulled the sentence and ordered a repeat the trial. These procedural incidents caused the maximum legal period of provisional detention of the accused to be exceeded, and he already attended the hearing while free.

The trial was repeated and on September 26 the jury again found him guilty. Arellanos was sentenced to the aforementioned sentence of 22 years in prison, disqualified from exercising parental authority over his daughter and prohibited from approaching within 500 meters and from communicating with her for 30 years, as well as compensating her with 150,000 euros. .

In addition, Arellanos was called to sign twice a week in a court in Collado Villalba. However, he only showed up once and since then he has been untraceable.
