Carlos Sainz has the opportunity this Sunday, August 28, to add his second victory in Formula 1 at the Belgian Grand Prix that takes place at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, where the Madrid driver will start from the first position on the starting grid due to the penalty on Max Verstappen, the fastest during qualifying.

The race on the mythical Belgian track will start at 3:00 p.m. and will be seen on the streaming platform DAZN and Movistar, in addition to being able to follow minute by minute through the La Vanguardia website.

Sainz was second fastest in practice, but Verstappen and six other drivers were penalized for changing parts on their car and will start from the rear. The main threat for the Ferrari driver is Sergio Pérez, second, and in principle faster on Belgian soil with his Red Bull.

He will also have the opportunity to achieve a great position in the race Fernando Alonso, who will start third in his Alpine. The Spaniard converted his sixth fastest time during practice in third place due to penalties on Charles Leclerc and Esteban Ocon, fourth and fifth respectively on the asphalt.

Sainz won his first race in the 'big circus' this year at the British Grand Prix, where he was ahead of Sergio Pérez and Lewis Hamilton. It should be remembered that last year Verstappen won the shortest race in history at Spa, lasting only four laps and behind the safety car due to rain.
