Formula 1 leaves the old continent behind and embarks on a tour of Asia, where the first stop will be the Singapore Grand Prix, a country that once again hosts the highest category of motorsport after two years of absence. This Saturday, October 1, the drivers of the 'great circus' will fight for pole position at the Marina Bay street circuit.

The classification in the Singaporean track will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will be seen on DAZN or by accessing the DAZN F1 channel through Movistar, in addition to being able to follow minute by minute on the La Vanguardia website.

The race on the asphalt of Singapore is the first opportunity for Max Verstappen to seal the Formula 1 World title. The Dutch driver, defending champion, is 116 points ahead of the second-placed driver, the Monegasque Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, with only six races remaining for the end of the season.

The leader of the Red Bull team has five consecutive wins, the last in Italy, where he won ahead of Leclerc and George Russell of Mercedes. The title of Mad Max is a matter of time, although in Singapore the cabals are complex. Verstappen needs to win and set the fastest lap, while Leclerc should finish eighth or worse and his teammate fourth or worse.

The last time it was run in Singapore was in 2019, when Leclerc took the top position on the starting grid, with Verstappen fourth, and Sebastian Vettel won the race ahead of the now leading Ferrari. Mad Max completed the podium, which this time could take home a pleasant memory of his time at the Marina Bay circuit.
