Sandro Rosell opposes Real Madrid acting as an accusation in the Negreira case

The former president of FC Barcelona, Sandro Rosell, has opposed Real Madrid presenting itself as a private prosecution in what is known as the Negreira case. In the letter that his lawyers have sent to the examining magistrate in the case, they allege that the white club "lacks legitimacy" because it has not been affected by its assets, nor is it the manager of the competition.

Rosell's defense believes that "the interests of FC Barcelona's competitors are already represented by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the Professional Football League (LFP)". Two organizations "that are already part of the procedure, precisely in their capacity as organizers of La Liga and representatives of all the clubs that make it up, including Real Madrid itself."

For all these reasons, they consider that admitting the white club as a private prosecution would mean "a duplicate and redundant representation of such interests that will only contribute to unnecessarily prolong the processing of these proceedings and violate the principal's right to a process without undue delay".

They also oppose the appearance of the engineer Miguel Ángel Gallardo Ortiz and the legal person APEDANICA, as well as the Real Madrid partner Luis José Sáenz de Tejada Vallejo as private prosecution. All this, appealing to the order of the investigating judge of 03/08/2023 in which the legitimacy of the arbitrator Xavier Estrada Fernández was rejected as a private accusation that maintains that: "the aggrieved would be those whose assets were directly affected by the conducts punishable and the entities that manage sports competitions in which the alleged corruption occurs would also be aggrieved.
