Rull leaves his return to the political front line up in the air after being enabled

The president of the National Junts Council, Josep Rull, has left up in the air his possible return to the first political line after his disqualification sentence for his participation in the process was extinguished according to the review of the sentence that the Supreme Court carried out yesterday to the light of the recent reform of the Penal Code that repealed the crime of sedition and modified embezzlement.

Rull, in an interview in RAC1, has considered that it would be "frivolous" to speak of "personal visions" after yesterday's Supreme Court Chamber II order that attributed an aggravated interpretation, that is to say, for profit, of the embezzlement to the convicted of that crime that left intact the disqualification for Oriol Juqnueras, Jordi Turull, Raül Romeva and Dolors Bassa. "It would not correspond to the moment," said Rull, who wanted to warn Esquerra about the risks of negotiating personal solutions alone.

On this point, the independence leader has quoted the North American revolutionaries who said "either we win together or they will hang us separately." "When you try to negotiate an issue as important as this one, you end up hurting you and the movement as a whole," Rull warned without reproach. "This is a collective movement and when we go together we have always won," he insisted.

Rull has saved the reproaches for the Supreme Court, which, in his opinion, systematically steps on and violates fundamental rights and freedoms, acts as a fourth chamber and interferes in the legislative power to guarantee the unity of Spain and has accused him of "perpetrating" a car that he has called "infamous". Likewise, he has criticized that the Spanish government is "enthusiastic" with the interpretation of the judges on embezzlement.

In any case, Rull has concluded that the Spanish public authorities "when fighting against the cause of freedom in Catalonia decide to dispense with the rule of law" and has recalled, in this sense, the cases of espionage with Pegasus (CNI) the infiltration of police in independence movements (Interior) or the suspensions of deputies and senators by the presidencies of Congress and the Senate. Faced with these observations, Rull has opted to recose the independence movement because, otherwise, -he has said- "we already see what the consequences are".

The one who has ruled out returning to institutional politics or running in the upcoming elections has been the former president of Parliament Carme Forcadell, who also saw her disqualification sentence expired yesterday. "I have not planned it. Talking now that some colleagues who would like to present themselves cannot, does not seem like a good time," she said in an interview at RTVE's Café de Idees.

According to Forcadell, now he has "other interests" and "at the moment he doesn't feel like" going back to the institutions. "In addition, I understand that politics can be done from other places. Transforming the country and working to improve people's lives can be done from institutions but also from entities," she added.
