Rosalía breaks up amicably with her representative, Rebeca León

Rosalía and her representative, Rebeca Léon, have broken their employment relationship amicably, after six years of working together, Billboard magazine reported on Wednesday.

The separation took place on good terms and with "thankfulness and pride for everything they have achieved together," detailed that medium specialized in the music industry.

So far, Rosalía has not announced who her new agent will be.

León, who has also directed the careers of J Balvin and Juanes, began working with the Catalan when the flamenco pop star had no contract and had not yet recorded the album "El mal querer", which catapulted her to international fame in 2018.

It was Juanes himself, with whom León started the production company Lionfish Studios, who put them in contact after the Colombian was impressed with the singer's talent.

"(Juanes) saw Rosalía two years ago at a show in Madrid in front of very few people and she told me that she had seen the daughter of Björk and Whitney Houston," León told a conference offered in 2019.

In the same talk, the agent stressed that Rosalía's "power" and the unusualness of her musical proposal led her to become interested in her. Her respect was mutual, as the singer of "Malamente" expressed her admiration for her representative on several occasions.

"I am lucky to be able to work with someone who inspires me, a strong woman," Rosalía said of León in 2019.

The agent managed to get Rosalía to go from Sony Music to Columbia Records. This record company has among its artists singers like Adele, Beyoncé, Céline Dion, Bob Dylan or Harry Styles.

With León on her team, the Catalan also achieved her first Grammy nomination, and in 2022 she won the Latin Grammy for the best album of the year for the album "Motomami".

Rosalía has just finished the tour for said album and already has new performances scheduled, such as at the Coachella festival (California, USA) in April.

León, for his part, has just closed a content contract with Sony Music, was a producer of the film "The Father of the Bride" and is developing a project together with playwright Steven Levinson for HBO.
