Rosalía becomes the new global ambassador of Dior

Rosalía dazzled at the last edition of the Met Gala turned into a black tulip. The artist opted for an impeccable Dior outfit that drew attention to the satin top with a strapless neckline, three buttons and a small flare at the waist that gave way to a long train. A piece that was inspired by the New Look silhouette that Christian Dior presented in 1947 and that she combined with a high-stemmed pencil skirt.

“When I heard the theme, I focused on the fact that it was about sleeping beauty. And I thought, what does this mean to me? I immediately thought of dreams. Before you fall asleep, you close your eyes and what do you see? You see black, you see darkness, so it was clear to me that it had to be a design in black (…) It is the prelude to a dream and for me Monsieur Dior reawakened fashion. “Tonight I am celebrating Dior and that is why I am a black tulip,” the Catalan explained to journalists.

After making an impact at the gala, the French brand announced this Wednesday, May 15, the signing of Rosalía as its new global ambassador, following in the footsteps of celebrities such as Anya Taylor-Joy, Marion Cotillard and Beatrice Borromeo. “Celebrating the passionate synergy between fashion, performance and music, the house is delighted to announce Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Rosalía as the new Dior ambassador,” the brand communicates.

The Malamente singer's first campaign for the brand is as the image of Lady Dior, one of her most iconic bags. In the different black and white images that the company has released and that photographer Collier Schorr has taken, Rosalía can be seen posing with this accessory that was the favorite of Princess Diana of Wales. “Symbol and legend, the Lady Dior appeared for the first time hanging on Lady Di's arm and enjoyed an extraordinary destiny from that moment on,” they comment.

Maria Grazia Chiuri has also expressed her admiration for the singer. “I fell in love with Rosalía's music from the first moment. Later, I discovered her work in more depth and I was impressed by her dedication both as a musician and as a producer,” stated the creative director.

The relationship between the singer and the French brand began in September of last year, when they surprised with their presence at the fashion show during Paris Fashion Week. She repeated it last February with a look that was faithful to the Motomami style that Rosalía made fashionable a couple of years ago.
