The Minister of Business and Labor, Roger Torrent, and the General Director of Industry, Natàlia Mas, traveled to South Korea on Friday to negotiate and finalize industrial investments linked to the automobile in Catalonia. The Generalitat delegation is thus attempting to strengthen the Catalan productive fabric after the Nissan crisis and at a time when the automotive sector is in full transformation due to the transition to electric cars. This same month the Volkswagen group and Seat presented their project to access the Perte aid (project for the recovery and transformation of the economy) of the automotive industry, with which they plan to turn Spain into an electric vehicle hub in Europe. It is the project called Future: Fast Forward in which a total of 62 companies participate and with an investment of 10,000 million. Those responsible for Empresa i Treball also want to attract other companies in the sector to Catalonia, and have focused on Korean industry.
