Rodríguez Piñero feels harmed by "no one" notifying her of incompatibility in the APV

The socialist MEP Inmaculada Rodríguez Piñero feels "the only one harmed" by an error that "no one" warned her about - the incompatibility of being a member of the Port Authority of Valencia (APV) - and this Thursday she assured that she will return the resulting allowances of that appointment.

"Neither the Generalitat Attorney's Office, nor the State Attorney's Office, nor the Secretariat of the Council of the APV ever warned me of a possible incompatibility" and none of the administrations involved raised "any qualms or objections" during his eight years as a member. of the board of directors of the APV, a position from which he resigned on September 25, he stated at a press conference called on this matter.

Precisely this Jew has become effective with its publication in the Official Journal of the Generalitat (DOGV) the separation of the MEP as a member of the APV.

Rodríguez Piñero has regretted the "personal smear campaign" of the PP and the Valencian Government, which "calls into question" his more than twenty years of public service, and has stated that he will return "every last euro" of the allowances derived of the appointment and that the PAV formally demands it.

Some allowances, he said, that he has always declared before the European Parliament and the Tax Agency.

The MEP has highlighted her work as a member of the port - she has attended almost 60 council meetings and has carried out negotiations in the EU to help boost the port's competitiveness - and her "suitability" for the position since no administration raised any objections or objections" to her status as director.

Rodríguez Piñero decided to resign as a member after the last regional elections, and wait to make the resignation effective with the replacement of Joan Calabuig from the presidency, which he requested on September 25 from the Minister of the Environment, Salomé Pradas, in a letter in the who asked to be informed when the resignation would be formalized.

"No one ever responded to me and I have not attended any council nor been summoned since I submitted my resignation," and in mid-October he learned that MEP José Manuel García-Margallo would replace him.

On November 22, the PP "leaked" to two media the report from the Generalitat that had been expressly commissioned weeks before on its incompatibility, and from there began, he criticized, "a campaign of personal discredit by the PP and the Government Valencian".

Regarding incompatibility, he stated that according to the EU regulations that regulate the incompatibilities of members of the European Parliament there is compatibility, but Spanish legislation establishes that being an MEP is incompatible with being part of the board of directors of a public company or corporation.

The MEP asks the Consell to investigate the possible responsibilities to determine where the error lies in not being warned of the incompatibility.
