Reflections on the virtual world in a humorous key are the stars of the spot for the Sitges Festival

This year marks the fortieth anniversary of the premiere of Tron, the science fiction classic that first told us about virtual worlds and artificial intelligence. To celebrate the occasion, the CHINA agency, with the collaboration of the production company Garage Films, has joined the tribute paid by the Sitges - International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, creating for another year the promotional spot, directed by the director Sebas Alfie .

In this unique piece, two friends from the neighborhood reflect from a drain, with some concern and unexpected lucidity, on some of the questions that Tron posed to us forty years ago: how virtual worlds will affect us or how far artificial intelligence can go , two issues in full force and for which four decades later we begin to sense some answers.

Regarding the idea of the project, the CHINA team explains that "we were amused by the idea of tackling such a complex and profound topic from an unexpected place. And it's not all about Nolans and Kubricks, we also want to hear the vision of equally fascinating characters like Angy or Ivan.”

To interpret these peculiar friends, the actors Ivan Massagué and Angy Fernández have collaborated. Sebas Alfie, director of the spot, states: “We wanted to make humor from credible performances, bringing the viewer closer to the thoughts and concerns of the characters. And it has been a luxury to be able to count on the talent of Angy and Ivan”.

This audiovisual piece completes the tribute campaign to the 40 years of Tron initiated by CHINA, which in its first phase featured creativity in digital and outdoor media in which the retro-futuristic aesthetic of the film was mixed with the iconic gorilla of the Sitges Festival .

The spot can be seen on TV3, in cinemas and during screenings of the Festival itself, as well as on the festival's YouTube channel.
