Celso D.R., a resident of the Valencian town of Vilamarxant, had an incident with a neighbor on November 12, 2022 that ended with both being detained by the Local Police. The man, with several criminal records, called the police during the discussion and put his mobile phone to record. When he was arrested, the device continued to record for more than five hours while he was in jail. The audio records the conversations between the agents of the Local Police who made the arrest and who had doubts about the arrest. “He is very taken with tweezers (...). We have to say that he was violent ”, says an agent in the audio to which elDiario.es has had access.
The aforementioned newspaper indicates that the case for an alleged attack on authority was filed because the prosecutor considered that "the facts included in the report, despite having been ratified by the police officers, are not corroborated by any means of proof". The Public Ministry concluded that "there is no evidence" that the arrested person "turned around violently and pushed the agent against the wall," as the police report stated. All this after knowing the existence of the recording.
The author of the information, Lucas Marco, points out that the resident of Vilamarxant filed a complaint against the two agents who arrested him and against the local local police chief inspector for the alleged crimes of illegal detention, false complaint and falsification of public documents. However, the head of the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 1 of Llíria agreed to the provisional dismissal of the case, considering that the recording is "illegal". Celso D.R.'s lawyer has appealed the order, issued on April 20.
