Real Madrid welcomes Naples with Theo Zidane

The plague of injuries at Real Madrid, up to eight casualties, the latest being Luka Modric, the whites have today to receive Naples at the Bernabéu on the fifth day of the group stage, has led Carlo Ancelotti to include in the call-up six Castilla players, including Theo Zidane, the third son of Zinédine Zidane who could debut in the Real Madrid first team.

The other five youth players are the goalkeepers Cañizares (son of Santi Cañizares) and Fran; the midfielders Mario Martín and Nico Paz and the forward Gonzalo. These last two already played a few minutes on Saturday against Cádiz.

Zidane's first two children already played in Madrid's first team, in which they both had a short-lived stint despite their father being the coach at the time.

The first-born, Enzo Zidane, 28 years old, is a midfielder who is now without a club after a career without pain or glory for teams such as Alavés, Lausana (Switzerland), Rayo Majadahonda, Aves (Portugal), Almería, Rodez Aveyron ( France) and Fuenlabrada, his last destination, already in the First Federation. He played one game with Madrid's first team in the 2016-17 season, against Cultural Leonesa in the Cup.

Zidane's second son, Luca Zidane, has performed better. 25 years old and a goalkeeper, he currently plays for SD Eibar, in the Second Division. Luca has played two official matches with the whites' first team and before arriving at Ipurúa he defended the goals of Racing de Santander and Rayo Vallecano.

Theo Zidane, 21 years old, is a midfielder like his older brother and the tallest of all, at 1.96 centimeters. If Enzo was more of a midfielder whose good technique stood out, Theo is more of a back-and-forth footballer, with great physical display, in the style of Fede Valverde. This season, Zidane's third son has played in 13 of the white reserve team's 14 games (eleven as a starter and two as a substitute to complete 935 minutes).

Born in Marseille, Theo is an Under-20 international with France (Enzo came to play in the Spanish youth team and then moved to France). Theo entered the Real Madrid youth academy thirteen years ago and has been through all the youth football teams: junior, junior, junior, cadet and youth. He joined Castilla in the summer of 2021.

There is still a fourth Zidane in La Fábrica, Zidane's fourth son, who has only had sons. This is Elyaz Zidane, 17 years old, a center back who plays for Álvaro Arbeloa's youth A team. Elyaz has already trained with the first team. In Valdebebas they believe that he is the best of the four in the saga.

Madrid, already classified for the round of 16, needs a point to be first in the group. If they fail, they would have the chance to beat Union Berlin in Berlin on the sixth and final day.
