The script twist in Luis Rubiales' speech this Friday at the Extraordinary Assembly of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) is causing a stir of reactions from the world of football and the main Spanish professional clubs. The president maintains that he is not going to resign, and that he has not done anything wrong, and announces that he will fight until the end to defend himself. Despite leaking the day before to his intimates that he was going to resign.
In this sense, Real Madrid has made a statement showing its support for the decision of the Higher Sports Council (CSD) to denounce Rubiales, before the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) for "very serious" events and that it will suspend him from their functions if said instance opens a file. The president of the CSD, Víctor Francos, has asked the TAD to meet extraordinarily next Monday.
"Our club fully supports the decision launched by the president of the Higher Sports Council, Víctor Francos, who will immediately refer this case to the Administrative Court of Sports.", reads the statement.
In the letter they explain that the Club "from now on fully trusts the actions carried out by the corresponding competent bodies, as in this case the Higher Sports Council."
The white club is committed, in turn, to "working on the development and growth of women's football in our country" and reiterated its congratulations to the players of the Spanish team who were proclaimed world champions last Sunday in Sydney.
Real Madrid was not summoned to the Assembly, as it was not a member of the RFEF assembly clubs. After following the appearance of Luis Rubiales and the position of the CSD, he positioned himself in a statement.
