Real Madrid lands in Los Angeles with Barça on the horizon

Real Madrid landed this Tuesday in Los Angeles (USA) to start their pre-season tour in the United States, which will have as a highlight this Saturday's match against Barcelona in Las Vegas (USA). "Hello, Los Angeles!" wrote the official Twitter account of the white club with a video in which players like Vinícius or Militão were seen getting off the plane that took off this morning from Madrid. Madrid's social media profile also shared several images of the players' arrival at the hotel.

Madrid is scheduled to train on Wednesday morning at the UCLA university facilities in the Californian city. The Spaniard Borja Mayoral and the Brazilian Reinier Jesus are not part of the expedition of 28 players who will continue the Whites' preseason in the United States.

The absences of Mayoral and Reinier are due to very different situations. The first has not been able to travel due to problems in his vaccination schedule against the coronavirus that the club hopes to solve soon, while the Brazilian stays in Madrid in search of a departure from the club, since he cannot be registered as he has covered the non-community quota with Vinicius, Rodrygo and Militao.

The French Karim Benzema joins directly in Los Angeles after enjoying more days off. Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti takes homegrown players Luis López, Lucas Cañizares -goalkeepers-, Vinicius Tobias -right back- and Juanmi Latasa -forward-.

After 11 days of preparation in Madrid, the Whites will continue their set-up with three friendlies on American soil. Real Madrid will first face Barcelona at dawn (following Spanish time) from Saturday 23 to Sunday 24 July (5:00 CET) at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Their next matches will be on Wednesday the 27th (4:30 CET) at the Oracle Park in San Francisco (USA) against Club América, where Álvaro Fidalgo, a former Real Madrid youth player, plays, and they will finish the tour on Sunday the 31st of July against Juventus at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles (4:00 am CET).

These three friendlies will serve as preparation for the first title of the season, the European Super Cup that Real Madrid will play on August 10 in Helsinki (Finland) against Eintracht Frankfurt.
