'RAVE', the participative children's show that bequeaths to the Teatre Lliure de Gràcia

Over the next few weeks, the Teatre Lliure de Gràcia is hosting RAVE, the family show by Sílvia Delagneau. It is a participatory ritual about evolution and the cycle of life, and is led by a radish, a paleontologist and a DJ.

RAVE, aimed at an audience from 6 to 10 years old, leaves the accompanying adults watching the scenic adventure from their seats, while the creatures are brought onto the stage, where they are outfitted with capes. The staging simulates a cave, which serves as a shelter for the little ones fleeing a storm.

The exhibition takes the little ones on a journey through the bowels of the stage, where they discover the elements that make up the black box of the theater and the animals that inhabit it. Basically, what the show seeks is to connect the public with the climate, the Earth and the origins.

Three characters star in this adventure: a radish, played by Carles Pedragosa; a paleontologist (a character inspired by Mary Anning), played by Anabel Labrador, and a bat DJ who orchestrates meteorological phenomena, a character played by Clara Aguilar.

Sílvia Delagneau, set designer and costume designer, affirms that giving the vegetable a human shape with the character of the radish has allowed her to "play with the idea of breaking out, of coming out into the light, of exposing herself, but also of breaking out to create, to dance". .

The title, RAVE (radish in Catalan), is key, since "it flirts with the vegetable as an inclusive party and connects with music in an ephemeral ritual, as is theater", concludes Delagneau.

The artistic team is completed by Albert Arribas, in charge of the texts; Max Glaenzel, who is in charge of the scenic space; Marcos Morau, from the wardrobe, and Raimon Rius, from the lighting. The performer Clara Aguilar, in addition to playing the dj bat, signs the sound and the original music of the work.

RAVE can be seen from February 15 to March 5 in the Lliure de Gràcia room, with family functions on Saturdays and Sundays, and school functions during the week. The show will also tour Catalonia.
