Pyrénées looks to the future with a clear commitment to Andorra

Last week, the “Looking to the future” event became one of the events celebrating the 75th anniversary of the first private business group in Andorra, the Pyrénées group. The event served to expose and discuss future trends in the field of commerce, gastronomy, services and sustainability, and of course to gauge the momentum for the future that the country needs.

The president of the company, Patrick Pérez, opened the conference together with the cap de Govern, Xavier Espot, and the chief consul of the capital, Conxita Marsol. Pérez assured that the Pyrénées Group has always had a high level of commitment to the principality. "Our company, over these 75 years, has become a driving force for Andorra and we have also tried, and I think we have succeeded, to become a pioneering group that looks to the future."

In his speech, Patrick Pérez linked the commitment to the principality to key issues such as "digital transformation, the future of commerce, restaurants, services and, above all, people, who are fundamental pillars on which to continue supporting our business project" , a project that "creates opportunities, seeks collective prosperity and bases its spirit on respect, commitment and a job well done".

Another key aspect that focused the intervention of the president of Pyrénées is social responsibility. “We have been working for some time with the aim of being increasingly sustainable and, for this reason, this year we will turn off the Christmas lighting on the facade of our department stores for the first time. With this measure, framed in a global savings plan, we will be able to reduce energy consumption by up to 40%”. In this way, "we will convert these savings into advantages for our clients and of course with this responsible growth of the company we will achieve greater prosperity for the country", added Pérez.

The value of people was also one of the issues discussed at the conference. “From Epizen to Pyrénées Pas de la Casa, the group is present throughout the country. We are an engine for Andorra and an engine works thanks to people. This is how I have always understood and practiced it together with my closest family, upholding the legacy that my grandparents, my parents and my uncle left us, and that tomorrow my daughter Alexandra and my grandson Lucas will lead. We believe and bet on people”.

More than 1,400 people work in the group as a whole. "Our history would not make sense without all of them and without our clients," said Pérez. In reality, “we are a company that wants to continue being profoundly Andorran and the engine of the country. We are a beacon and we want to continue lighting up the future of the country”.
