PSOE and PP close the year tied with Vox on the rise, according to a new survey

The margin between the Popular Party and the PSOE continues to shrink compared to the latest polls and the two formations end 2023 with a technical tie and one year from the general elections. After the brilliant rise they had with the arrival of Alberto Núñez Feijóo, the popular ones would be even with the socialists if the elections were held now, according to a survey by Simple Lógica and Eldiario.es. The study also reveals a rise in Vox, which is consolidated in third position. The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, advances to Vice President Yolanda Díaz and stands as the most valued political leader.

The PP would prevail in the general elections, with 27.8% of the votes, but with a minimal cushion compared to the PSOE, which would obtain 27.6%. The survey, which asked a thousand citizens, was carried out between December 1 and 13, thus measuring citizen perception of the Penal Code reform -repeal of sedition and changes in embezzlement- and also, in In a certain way, the downward revision of sentences by the law of the only yes is yes, but not on the institutional clash and the blockade of the election of the magistrates of the Constitutional Court.

According to this same survey, Vox would get 18.2% of the votes, thus establishing itself in third place, but it is still a long way from the two majority parties. In this way, he regains strength in the polls, after the same gave him five fewer points in October. United We Can suffer a slight decrease compared to the last survey and would add 9.4% of the votes, far from the 13% of the November 2019 elections.

Ciudadanos, for its part, continues in free fall and would stand at 0.3%, in full internal restructuring and without yet having a defined leadership. The formation now led by Inés Arrimadas would be surpassed by Más País, which climbs to 2.5% of the votes. Íñigo Errejón's party is recovering ground after a sharp drop in November.

The survey differs from the last CIS barometer, carried out during the same period, which gave victory to the PSOE, although with a narrower margin than in previous studies. It also placed United We Can more than two points above Vox, and Ciudadanos was around 3%.

According to Simple Lógica and Eldiario.es, Pedro Sánchez is the most valued political leader and passes before Yolanda Díaz, an unprecedented event during this 2022. The president obtains a 36.9% positive evaluation, while the Minister of Labor 35.4% of those surveyed approve it. Íñigo Errejón (28.8%) and Alberto Núñez Feijóo (24.6%), still far from the podium, are next in the ranking. The list of valuations is closed by the president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, with 15.8%, and Ione Belarra, Minister of Social Rights and the 2030 Agenda (13.1%).
