PSG deny that Mbappé wants to leave in January

Kylian Mbappé does not move. At least that is what emerges from the words of the PSG soccer director, Luis Campos, after it broke out in France that the young Frenchman's wish would be to leave the Parisian club in the next winter market.

Campos assured that Mbappé "never" has asked him to leave PSG, after several French media assured that the footballer has requested to leave immediately, something that he "categorically" denied. "I am very surprised, every day I am with Mbappé, he has never asked me, and I have spoken with the president, and I can say that he has never asked us to leave in January," said the Portuguese, a man very close to the French striker since they met in Monaco.

Campos was convinced that Mbappé does not plan to leave because, if so, he would have told him. "He doesn't think about it, because I'm sure that if he did think about it, he would tell me. He hasn't told me, or the president," he said.

Campos praised Mbappé's professionalism and recalled that last Saturday he played sick due to the numerous casualties that the team had. "I see him work, he is an extraordinary player, he played sick in the last game, he made an effort for the team, I always see him arrive with his teammates happy and eager to work," he stressed.

"He arrives every day at the training camp with a lot of enthusiasm, because he is not only a great professional, he is an extraordinary human being. He always wants to do the best for a club from his city and his country. It is clear to me that he will fulfill his contract ", he assured.

Campos considered that "it is no coincidence" that the information was published a few hours before the decisive Champions League match between PSG and Benfica, rumors that they are trying to destabilize because, according to the entity's football manager, they have " three of the top five footballers in the world.

Several French media published on Tuesday that Mbappé has asked to leave PSG in the winter market, considering that the club has not fulfilled the commitments it made last May when it convinced him to extend his contract for two seasons, with the option of one more.

The player has hinted that he is not happy in the position of center forward in which Christophe Galtier places him. In addition, the media highlights, he considers that he has not signed the 'nine' that they had promised him and that the promise that Neymar would leave the club was not fulfilled.

That Mbappé is unhappy in these first months of this season cannot be hidden. Through small gestures he is making it noticeable. The player, acclaimed by the stands when he announced at the end of last season that he was staying at Paris Saint-Germain, does not see the effects of that decision materializing, which meant giving up a juicy offer from Real Madrid.

He hardly smiles, shows an annoyed gesture and his statistics are, for now, far from those of last season, when he was the real engine of the team, a role that Neymar and Messi are assuming these weeks.

Mbappé is no longer the central element of PSG and through small messages he blames the position in which the coach, Christophe Galtier, has placed him at the top of the attack. The last one was last Saturday, when, after his team drew in Reims, he posted a message on social networks. Although the content was nondescript ("tie, date Tuesday") he accompanied it with the tag "pivot-gang".

In this way, the player put back on the table the little affection he has for the 'nine' position in which he plays on his team, which takes him away from the wings, where his power and speed, he believes, give him more danger.

His veiled complaint was connected to the statements he made a few weeks ago at the concentration of the French team, where he assured that Didier Deschamps gave him more freedom. "Here they ask me for different things than at the club. I have a lot of freedom here. The coach knows that there is a number 'nine' like Olivier (Giroud) who takes care of the defenses and I can look for spaces, ask for balls. In Paris that It doesn't happen, they ask me to play pivot, it's different", he pointed out in the last concentration of the bleus.
