Trigger bans. Restraining orders. Local and state disputes. Old laws are being challenged in new ways. States are now flooded with abortion-related legal issues after Roe. Gretchen Whitmer, Michigan governor, tells NPR that there is a lot of confusion and it's a very anxious time. The chaos has spread from the state courts to individual abortion providers. Staff and patients are struggling to adapt to rapidly changing legal realities. Sarah McCammon, NPR's Sarah McCammon, visited one provider in Shreveport (La.). Members of the military stationed in specific states may find it difficult to access abortion care due to shifting legal realities. Brian Mann, NPR's Brian Mann, spoke with military women about their concerns.
