Port Aventura will launch a new roller coaster in the middle of next year, inspired by the movie 'Uncharted'. The fully enclosed roller coaster has been under construction for several months in the Far West area. The park has invested 25 million euros in its first 'dark ride' roller coaster, a totally immersive experience in a covered area.

Those who get on the new attraction will live in their own skin an adventure full of dangers and emotions, in search of a great treasure never found. The roller coaster plays with the dark.

A vibrant course 700 meters long, 16 meters high, has been designed in a unique immersive space of 4,800 square meters. "The new attraction promises to discover dark and unexplored territories during a stimulating expedition that will not leave you indifferent," Port Aventura explained in a statement. The attraction will have a 'pre-show' full of surprises and a journey with many unexpected events in search of a great treasure.

With an investment of 25 million euros, the project has been possible thanks to the agreement between Port Aventura and Sony Pictures and its creation has the collaboration of the renowned design company Intamin Amusement Rides and Sally Corporation, a leading international company specializing in the development of 'dark rides' and in the design of 'animatronics'.

The agreement with Sony allows the Costa Daurada theme park to have a roller coaster inspired by the blockbuster movie 'Uncharted', starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg. "We are excited about the announcement of this strategic agreement with a leading company in the entertainment industry such as Sony Pictures. This alliance will allow us to be present on a global scale with our first 'dark ride' roller coaster," said David García, director Business General of Port Aventura World.

“The Port Aventura World team has designed an exciting attraction so that fans of the game and the movie can put themselves in the shoes of Nate and Sully and embark on their own adventure in search of treasures”, explained Jeffrey Godsick, Executive Vice President of Associations Global and Brand Management and Director of Location-Based Entertainment at Sony Pictures Entertainment.

It will be the great premiere of the new season at Port Aventura World, which will exceptionally begin on February 17, 2023. The roller coaster will open a little later, at the end of the first half of 2023, as announced by the park. There is still no specific date for the launch of the attraction, in the middle of next year, under construction for several months. Port Aventura keeps the works secret and there are no images of the new attraction.
