Pimec asks for reductions in personal income tax, transfers, assets and successions

The Economy and Taxation Commission of the Pimec employers' association yesterday asked the Generalitat for reductions in personal income tax and in wealth taxes, transmissions and in inheritance and donations. It was during a meeting at the headquarters of the department of Economy to prepare the preparation of the next budgets of the Generalitat.

In relation to personal income tax, the employers' association pointed out that, taking into account the taxation by the general scale of the net income of individual and self-employed entrepreneurs, a reduction in the tax rates of the regional scale applicable to the general taxable base is necessary. "The proposals on taxation allow improving the competitiveness of Catalan SMEs, an important challenge to allow their growth," said the president of the Pimec Economy and Taxation Commission, Joan Maria Gimeno, in a statement.

Regarding the property transfer tax and documentary legal acts, Pimec highlighted the need to reduce the rates to compensate for the foreseeable increases in the base due to the application of the reference value. In relation to the wealth tax, proposals were also put on the table, such as the reduction in rates to compensate for the foreseeable increases in the tax base of real estate, an increase in the exempt minimum and new bonuses.

Regarding the tax on inheritance and donations, the proposal is also to reduce the rate and increase the bonuses.

On the other hand, the employers demanded yesterday that the reduction in public transport rates be "homogeneous" throughout the territory, beyond the operator that provides the service, so that there are no transfers between operators and prevent municipalities where there are no rail network offer by Renfe are discriminated against.

In a statement after the meeting of the Consell de Mobilitat, Pimec explained that it has transferred the proposal to reduce rates between 30% and 50% from September until the end of the year. He also claimed to compensate the collective public transport companies in the face of the drop in income due to the measure.
