The idyll continues. Pedro Martínez (61) and Baxi Manresa will continue for another year hand in hand, the fifth in a row and the tenth in total of their relationship. It has been months since another scenario was contemplated at Bages, the two parties are more comfortable than ever, so this Wednesday its continuity was simply made official with the simple objective that the fans can go on vacation with the peace of mind of know who will coach your team next season. The lucubrations are over. The relationship between the coach and the club goes far beyond the professional and if no one denounced the contract it was automatically extended, as it has been.
Baxi Manresa's is one of the lowest budgets in the ACB and cannot compete financially with other teams, but with Pedro Martínez that is by no means the most important aspect. The coach prioritizes other things, such as being close to his family and living at home, which he will be able to continue doing for another year. It should be remembered that the Barcelona coach is the coach who has directed the second most ACB games in history (982), only behind a legend like Aíto García Reneses (1,111).
Martínez, who led Baxi Manresa to safety again last year, this time on the penultimate day, will now be watching the market and redoing the squad. The limited financial resources of the club force it to be attentive to discards from other teams and prevent it from making too many moves in advance. In addition, dealing with the departure of their important men, such as Jerrick Harding, second highest scorer in the League (16.2), and Devin Robinson.
