Party in Barcelona to forget the troubled weather

This Saturday the weather was somewhat more complicit with the Mercè festivities than it had been on the opening day on Friday. Because the day before yesterday, as regards strictly musical performances, the afternoon-night had been intermittently rainy. However, around two in the morning on a Saturday, things went further and Luna Ki's concert at Moll de la Fusta had to be suspended, while those who offered Santa Salut at Bogatell beach and Mosaic at Reina María Cristina avenue had to bring forward its end as the rain intensified.

Yesterday was a good opportunity to check the health status of the Bogatell beach proposal, after its temporary disappearance due to the pandemic. And the first dose of music of the night (9:30 pm) was Marcel i Júlia. Both have taken flight musically since they released their first album, Pedalant endins, four years ago.

Because today, the former singer and composer of the Txarango, Marcel Lázara, and his travel companion, Júlia Arrey, have not only settled in the Catalan scene but are also referential in their pop with message and conscience. Especially as a result of their highly praised album En òrbita, illuminated last year and where they urged the climate emergency and our way of life. And all with catchy and energetic mestizo rhythms, which once transferred to live, inevitably turn the concert into a non-stop party.

And that was what Marcel i Júlia proposed and starred in on a second day that until the time of the concert had not seen any rain; in fact, in the early afternoon the sun came out...although three quarters after its start some drops fell that did not fit into the script for those hours. And they offered their music with choruses on the great stage of the festive, refreshing, lively sound proposals, that is, precisely the one located on the Bogatell beach.

It is also the one that can accommodate a very notable mass of fans, although last night the truth is that when they began their concert there were quite a few people on the sand of the beach. The attendance was encouraging little by little, who knows if also because of the very cool temperature that dominated the entire evening. The fans would get closer later, yes, with the announced performances of Els Catarres and Delafé and the Blue Flowers.

The also couple Marcel i Júlia offered around fifteen songs before an accomplice and happy audience that showed from minute one that they knew the repertoire well. They began with Millor amb tu with their musicians already at full blast and ended with Per la vida, and in between A poc a poc, Amor climatic, Sabor mestizo, Laughing and crying or Flor de tardor. They did not forget their successful single released a few months ago Que no s'acabi mai and that has already become a small anthem, even more so in these troubled times, in every way.
