P3 Logistic Parks will build a logistics warehouse of more than 11 hectares in Mas Sunyer in Reus

The company P3 Logistic Parks has bought a plot of land of 175,000 square meters located in the industrial sector H12 Mas Sunyer in Reus to build a logistics warehouse of more than 11 hectares. According to the City Council, this is the largest logistics project that currently exists in Catalonia.

The forecast is that construction work will begin during the second half of 2024 and finish in mid-2025.

The company's general director, Javier Mérida, has not detailed the investment in the asset or which company would be interested in acquiring it. However, he confirmed that the infrastructure is designed for companies that make large distributions and that can serve the Iberian Peninsula, the south of France and the north of Italy.

After four years of work for the reparcelling of the H12 Mas Sunyer sector in Reus, this Tuesday the mayor of Reus, Sandra Guaita, and the general director of P3 Logistic Parks, Javier Mérida, have staged the purchase of the land of this industrial land in order to install an extensive logistics warehouse.

"It is not the end of anything, it is the beginning of everything," stressed Guaita, who added that "the urban planning modifications started in 2019 were necessary" to be able to now execute the P3 Logistic Parks project, which will occupy an area equivalent to fifteen football fields.

According to municipal sources, the warehouse will have a total area of 111,250 square meters, which will include a warehouse of 107,900 square meters and large offices of 3,350 square meters. The structure will have a height of 11.5 meters and will also have loading docks and parking spaces.

The mayor of Reus has celebrated that this is a "very important opportunity for the municipality" that will help "consolidate the city as an area of high value due to its economic activity and strategic location."

"This new logistics platform will become the largest business implementation in terms of occupied space in the city and will have a significant economic impact for Reus and its surroundings," added Guaita.

For his part, the director of the company, Javier Mérida, has stressed that the company's objective is to provide an outlet for the great demand for land that exists in Catalonia.

Mérida has stated that with this new project they will contribute to "improving the low levels of availability of large format logistics surfaces in strategic locations for regional and international multimodal distribution."

Asked about the suitability of the capital of Baix Camp, Mérida assured that "the proximity to the Port of Tarragona, the Reus Airport and the city of Tarragona - which together have more than 200,000 inhabitants -, added to the road connections make Reus a strategic location from a logistical point of view".

Finally, Guaita has confirmed that the council is also working in other areas of the city, such as Tecnoparc, to turn Reus "into an attractive market for national and international operators."

P3 Logistic Parks began operating in 2016 and is specialized in the acquisition and management of logistics real estate assets. Currently, it has more than twenty assets totaling 835,000 square meters and a bag of land for the development of more than 230,000 additional square meters, according to municipal sources.

In Catalonia, it has assets in Abrera and Parets del Vallès, which total more than 40,000 square meters and where the new plant in Reus will be added, as well as another in Sant Fruitós of 33,000 square meters.
