Ortuzar responds to Pablo Iglesias: "He only needed to call me fat and bald"

The exchanges of statements between Andoni Ortuzar and Pablo Iglesias continue a week later. The president of the EBB of the PNV has questioned that the former leader of Podemos called him "machirulo and arrogant". "He only needed to call me fat and bald," he said. The Peneuvista leader has also asked Podemos to "less arrogantly" and to "put its shoulder in" to "remedy" the problem and the "social alarm" generated by the "ruling" in the 'only yes is yes' law.

Ortuzar has spoken in these terms in an interview with Onda Vasca, in which he has delved into his controversy with Pablo Iglesias.

Actually, these exchanges of words began after some statements by Ortuzar in an interview with El Correo. Questioned about governability in Spain and the future possibility that his party would support a PP government "without Vox in the equation", the jeltzale leader reflected on the parties that have emerged in the last decade.

“That is political fiction (governing with the PP without Vox in the equation). But there is an almost pre-partisan reflection that seems important to me. The new policy was going to fix everything, and today, eight years later, the representatives of the new policy are the worst thing in Spanish politics. I mean the same thing to Ciudadanos as to Podemos as to Vox. Be careful with the experiments, with the populisms ”, he indicated.

The statements also became the headline of the interview, and the response came from Madrid. Pablo Iglesias launched a tweet in which he contrasted the "respectful" tone of the lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, with the "machirulo and arrogant PNV" of Ortuzar.

“I met with Urkullu a PNV that is always respectful and correct. With Ortuzar, who made fun of the Lehendakari for being teetotal, I met a machirulo and arrogant PNV. Comparing Podemos with VOX is not just indecent cockiness, it is an insult to the Basques, ”he pointed out. The criticism of Iglesias on social networks was accompanied by other statements, critical of Ortuzar, from leaders of Podemos Euskadi.

The response of the leader of the PNV, finally, has arrived this Monday, in the aforementioned radio interview. For Andoni Ortuzar, Iglesias's reaction was "a bit excessive", and he has said that "everything that has happened since that interview to today is a beautiful metaphor", and that he is "a bit right". "I made a political criticism, from politics and for political reasons. I reviewed what the contribution of the new parties has been, those who came to fix everything, to do well the things that the rest of us did fatally, to be honest and champions of cleanliness and transparency", he recalled.

In this sense, he stressed that, "after time, they are parties that are in internal crisis, that when they reach the institutions, they start trouble." "They have been able to criticize everything they wanted and more. If one reviews the newspaper library, the things that those of Podemos here and there have said about the PNV! But, when we criticize others, we are attacking the people and When you make a political criticism, with political reasons, they answer you with a personal disqualification. (Pablo Iglesias) only needed to say fat and bald about me, without giving a single political reason, "he has censured.

Ortuzar has considered that this attitude of Podemos is being seen in the processing of "the famous law of yes or yes." "The people who are in politics and, above all, those who have a public responsibility, are here to solve problems, not to create them", he remarked.

In his opinion, "there is no distinction, a barrier between the old policy and the new policy: the old policy is a disaster and the new one is all renewal." "There is good and bad politics, there is politics well done, which serves to solve problems to help people, to get out of situations of uncertainty and socioeconomic complexities; and there is bad politics that not only does not fix problems, but creates problems. , and they themselves begin to become the problem", he indicated.
