OptimumTIC, experts and leaders in comprehensive cybersecurity management

At OptimumTIC we have been experts in the comprehensive management of cybersecurity since 2009. It was in that year that Rosa Ortuño, founder and CEO of OptimumTIC, launched this great professional project with an absolutely innovative vision of cybersecurity management at that time.

In this new era, in which all companies are carrying out major digital transformation processes (either because they are digital natives or because they have elements (resources) that must be connected and/or communicated), the new cybersecurity risks that exist to deal with are increasing. To face these new risks, organizations have had to put cybersecurity at the center of their operations and structure themselves through solid master plans that allow them to develop flexible, resilient, integrated and long-lasting strategies.

Given the evolution of the sector and technologies, the main cybersecurity challenges that are expected in the coming months will be focused, on the one hand, on the cloud. 50% of organizations will have a cloud-focused computing strategy, up from 5% by 2020 (source: Gartner). On the other hand, remote work, which will take on great importance, becoming one of the sources of vulnerability for organizations. The explosion of sophisticated attacks such as ransomware will also be one of the main challenges and, finally, we will find the threats to technological systems such as IoT and network connectivity, which all organizations have, since it goes from a simple device that allows connection to the internet, such as a Wi-Fi AP or a simple watch or mobile, to much more sophisticated elements.

The recent CS Hub 22 report has pointed out that approximately 75% of cybersecurity professionals consider phishing and social engineering attacks as the main threat to organizations. In the end, the weakest link is always the user, phishing attacks rely on human error, rather than software vulnerabilities, to gain entry into organizations and steal sensitive information or login credentials. In addition, with the improvement of device protection technologies, it is much easier for cybercriminals to trick someone into accessing a malicious link or providing sensitive information.

OptimumTIC was founded in 2009 by Rosa Ortuño, one of the first women engineers in the ICT sector in Catalonia. Recognized in the market as an expert in cybersecurity and compliance, Rosa Ortuño is a benchmark in large companies and institutions. Her tireless motivation, restlessness and will make her never stop growing and training. Therefore, in addition to being CEO of OptimumTIC, Rosa serves as president of CATEi, honorary member of the board of Dona TIC and vice president of ISACA.

Commitment, quality, transparency and security define Rosa and OptimumTIC, which has been able to transfer its vision of cybersecurity to the sector, where it has unquestionably established its place. The cybersecurity sector is a sector in constant evolution, so cybersecurity management companies must carry out a strategy of innovation and continuous improvement, based on compliance from the base of the regulatory field, with certifications such as the National Security Scheme or ISO27001 that certify it and, above all, with its own solutions, that is, a set of resources that must be structured focusing on people, since cybersecurity begins with oneself.

From 2009, when OptimumTIC only consisted of three people, one of them Rosa, to the present day, we have evolved exponentially, reaching a team made up of 23 cybersecurity professionals. One of the pillars that make up OptimumTIC is to bet on the growth and talent of our professionals, promoting training from day one, investing in each person, because, as Henry Ford said, "there is only one thing worse than training your employees and let them go: do not train them and let them stay”.

At OptimumTIC, from day one, everyone has a personalized training plan that allows them to fully develop their professional skills during their career at OptimumTIC, and not only in those more direct subjects, such as the leading cybersecurity platforms, but also in data protection, continuous simulations of social engineering attacks, and training on our certifications. In this way, we have a specialized and certified team in each of the tools and/or disciplines that we work for our clients.

In this line, for OptimumTIC it is not only important to bet on a trained and expert team, but also on a diverse team. Our team is made up of 50% women, both in the technical field and in regulatory and legal compliance. Likewise, we are also committed to giving opportunities to new young talents: every year at least one internship student joins our team, who, after their evaluation and evolution during the agreement, has the possibility of joining the OptimumTIC team as an employee and to evolve until he himself indicates his ceiling, since in OptimumTIC learning is constant and it is set by the employee himself. In this way, we can say that the success of our projects is based on the continuous improvement of both our services and our employees, on a professional scale.

At OptimumTIC we offer transversal cybersecurity services from the beginning. All of them are based on legal, organizational and technical perspectives. We offer quality solutions adapted to the needs of each of our clients, accompanying them in their security strategy and in the implementation and management of the most powerful and optimal solutions on the market, adapting all our services to regulations such as the RGPD and/or legal frameworks. safety regulations.
