One shot to the head and two "pen-pistols"

A man has been seriously injured when he received what at first appeared to be shot in the head when he was inside a restaurant on Dolores Barranco street in the Usera district. The Municipal Police of Madrid have found two 'pen-pistols' from the man arrested for the attack and, at the hospital, the toilets verified that there was no bullet hole, but head injuries, which required several stitches.

Some witnesses had spoken of a detonation, which would have been produced by a shot from a 'boli-pistola', a camouflaged firearm with small 22-millimeter caliber bullets and which is hardly used in the Spanish criminal world, according to the sources cited by Europa Press. The victim, a 45-year-old citizen of Chinese origin, has already been discharged.

The events took place around 9:45 p.m. this Tuesday inside a store at number 52 Dolores Barranco street. The Municipal Police received a call informing that there had been a brawl between two people and that they had detained the attacker, who had wanted to leave the place.

Attention to the victim was carried out around 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday. A team from Samur Civil Protection stabilized the injured man inside the same premises after which they proceeded, with advance notice, to transfer him to the Hospital 12 de Octubre, where he has been admitted with a serious prognosis.

The causes of the brawl are still unknown and they are looking to see if there was finally a detonation and casing, since then the detainee could be charged with attempted murder. The National Police has taken over the investigation.

On the other hand, a 28-year-old man was stabbed this morning in the Madrid neighborhood of Malasaña. He was the victim of a robbery while walking down the street with a friend, according to a spokesman for the Madrid Police Headquarters.

The events occurred around 4:15 p.m. this Wednesday on Don Felipe street, in the Centro district, when a 54-year-old man approached two young men to try to rob them. But they resisted, receiving one of them a significant stab wound by the thief, who ran away. After him, the young people ran out and then several national police officers, who hunted him down 500 meters later, on the corner of Daoiz street and San Bernardo street. The detainee has three records for assault on authority and injuries.
