One of Sweden's most wanted criminals arrested in Premià de Dalt

Mossos d'Esquadra of the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC), together with agents of the Swedish National Police, arrested on November 21 in Premià de Dalt (Maresme) a 41-year-old man, who had a pending European Arrest and Surrender Order (OEDE), which attributes crimes against drug trafficking, and links to organized crime in Sweden. Following an investigation initiated in the Scandinavian country, the Prosecutor's Office requested an arrest warrant that materialized in a European Arrest Warrant (OEDE) to which the Mossos d'Esquadra complied.

Catalan police agents established a location device for the person under investigation that concluded on the morning of the 21st with his location in Badalona. Subsequently, the entry and search was carried out at his home, a luxury house, in the town of Premià de Dalt, in the presence of four members of the Swedish National Police.

At the home, the agents seized several mobile phones, hard drives and other data storage media and 6,500 euros in cash. All these clues were handed over to Swedish investigators to be incorporated into the judicial case in Sweden. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the National Court, and it ordered his imprisonment pending the extradition process.

The arrest, according to the Mossos, highlights the efforts being carried out by police and judicial operators and international agencies in the fight against transnational drug trafficking and against crimes associated with drugs. The need for cross-border cooperation is key in the bidirectional dismantling of organizations, groups or actors that carry out this illicit activity, often in several countries of the European Union.
