The tensions between Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso multiplied last season in Formula 1, both on the track, with several controversial maneuvers, and off the asphalt, with crossed statements. Once the paths of both have separated, the Frenchman has criticized the Spaniard, whom he has accused of not taking on the job that belonged to him in the Alpine F1 team.

"Honestly, 98% of the work fell on my back and 2% on his. I was overloaded with work. I did all the development of the simulator, the marketing...", the young pilot explained in an interview in L'Équipe. Frenchman, 26, about his already ex-partner, from the next Aston Martin pilot course.

The last controversy between the two pilots occurred at the Brazilian Grand Prix, where the Spaniard lost his wing after a collision with Ocon. "When we go out together is what usually happens. Last year I could avoid it. But this year he almost threw me against the wall in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), in Hungary and now here," Alonso criticized his partner once the test was over in Interlagos.

"Of course, his comments in the press disappointed me," Ocon lamented in the interview for the prestigious French newspaper, where he nevertheless explained that he continues to "have respect" for the two-time world champion. "But it's good that he goes to Aston Martin and everyone can make their own way," he concluded about the relationship with the man from Oviedo.

The Formula 1 season ended just a week ago with the victory of the champion, Max Verstappen, in Abu Dhabi, where Alonso did not finish the race and Ocon finished in seventh position. The French rider finished eighth in the World Championship with 92 points, just ahead of the Asturian, who achieved a total of 81 points.

As soon as the race finished at the Brazilian track, Alonso, 41, began his transfer to Aston Martin. The Spaniard already tested the green car last Tuesday at the Yas Marina circuit. He completed a total of 97 laps and after removing his helmet he assured that he ended up "very happy" with the performance of the British car.
