Nogueras: "ERC has left the hand of Junts and has taken that of the PSOE"

The spokesperson for Junts per Catalunya in the Congress of Deputies, Míriam Nogueras, assures that Esquerra Republicana "has left the hand" of her party and "has taken" that of the PSOE, a fact that led to the rupture of the Government, as indicated . In statements to La 2 and Ràdio 4, the deputy in Madrid has criticized Oriol Junqueras' men for having, she said, a "servile attitude" towards the Government of Pedro Sánchez, at the same time that she has affirmed that they have ceased to have the independence as a priority.

"ERC has changed the rules of the game in the middle of the game," says Nogueras, who has harshly reproached the Republicans for the pacts with the Spanish executive for budgets or the reform of the Penal Code. Precisely, on the repeal of sedition, the spokesperson for Junts considers that PSOE and Unidas Podemos "has scored a goal" against ERC. "Her proposal from her is based on the fact that what we do is a crime and, therefore, deserves prison," she pointed out. In line with this thesis, Junts presented an amendment to the entirety -which was rejected- in which it based the statement of reasons on European jurisprudence and stressed that the events of 2017 were not a crime.

"We assume that what we did is a crime and that they punished us too much and now we will accept that they punish us a little less," said the Junts leader, who believes that "it does not make any sense" that this reform receives the support of a pro-independence party. . Likewise, Nogueras has denounced an increase in penalties in the field of public disorder and that will affect, in her opinion, protesters such as those of the post-sentence protests of the process.

Míriam Nogueras has blamed the Republicans for the fact that the dialogue table, and also the approval of the state budgets, have "distanced" independence. "The PSOE presumes that thanks to them independence has ended", Nogueras has wielded. He has also lamented a setback, according to what he has said, in terms of skills and resources for Catalonia. "We see many holders of agreements, but they are empty and are not fulfilled," he highlighted.

For all this, Nogueras considers that ERC has renounced the objective of independence. The Junts spokesperson in Congress has argued this with the appointment of ministers such as Joaquim Nadal and Gemma Ubasart. "Not only are they not pro-independence, but they have worked hard so that we did not reach port," said the Junts leader about the Recerca y Justícia headlines. Thus, in the opinion of the post-convergents, the Government of Pere Aragonès "has decided that what the citizens said 2 years ago is no longer valid".
