New photos show Boris Johnson toasting at a party during the pandemic

New photos released this Monday show British Prime Minister Boris Johnson toasting at a farewell party held at the Executive headquarters on November 13, 2020, during the covid restrictions.

The four images, obtained by the "ITV" channel, show Johnson in a relaxed attitude and raising a glass while addressing his collaborators in that celebration, in which bottles of alcohol and finger food can be seen.

Eight people appear in the photos, at a time when anticovid rules prohibited more than two people from different households from socializing indoors.

These images, which add more pressure on Johnson for non-compliance with anti-covid laws in Downing Street, are known shortly before the expected independent report by senior official Sue Gray on the parties at the Executive's headquarters, a well-known scandal. like "Partygate".

That report, whose publication was partially postponed for police to complete their own investigation, is expected to shed new light and document the celebrations that violated the regulations.

The London Metropolitan Police (Met or Scotland Yard) announced last Thursday the conclusion of its investigation into these social gatherings, in which it has issued 126 fines, among others one to Johnson, his wife, Carrie, and the head of Economy, Rishi Sunak.

The photos released by ITV News were taken at the farewell of the then Director of Communication of Downing Street, Lee Cain, and according to the channel there were more participants than the eight that appear in the images.

In several of these images, Johnson appears giving a speech and with a glass of sparkling wine in his hands, while there are several bottles of wine and sparkling wine on the table.

The Metropolitan Police, whose investigation has been highly questioned by the opposition, did not fine the prime minister for his participation in this celebration.

"Boris Johnson repeatedly said that he knew nothing about legal infractions, now there is no doubt, he lied. The Prime Minister has demoted his position. He made the rules and he broke them," the "number two" of the Labor opposition said on Twitter. Angela Rayner.
