Network of stelae in L'Escala

In Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we can admire what the sunrise was like with the sky marked by the contrails of the planes from L'Escala, in the Alt Empordà.

The name of L'Escala comes from the time of the Romans, Scala, which means dock or place where ships dock. And, although L'Escala is one of the main tourist centers on the Costa Brava, on this occasion the focus of the images does not refer us to the sea, but to the sky of trails.

Planes form a contrail after the kerosene combustion process. The gases expelled by the engine come out at a much higher temperature than that of the outside.

The environment is pleasant with the Montgrí massif and the Aiguamolls, as well as its long and small beaches or the coves between rocky cliffs.

The population center of L'Escala is made up of eight towns, among which Empúries, San Martí d'Empúries, Les Corts and Camps dels Pilans stand out.
