Nathy Peluso is being the clear star of the 29th edition of Sónar, with the permission of C. Tangana. The artist from Buenos Aires swept the opening concert last Thursday and did it again yesterday on the first day of Sónar by Night. If one thing is clear, it is that she has become a music diva who takes over all the stages she goes through, with a very personal style that mixes hip hop, soul, trap, jazz, rap. , salsa and swing. Thus, she stands as one of the stars of the current music scene and one of the pioneers of urban and Latin music.

But the one that today is a benchmark of the genre known as "Latin jazz" did not have it easy at the beginning. Despite her Argentine nationality, Nathy Peluso has been based in Spain since, in 2004, her family traveled from her native country due to the economic crisis. Thus, in the Alicante town of Torrevieja, at the age of 16 she began to perform in hotels and restaurants singing versions of great music figures such as Frank Sinatra, Etta James or Nina Simone.

After these first times on stage in front of an audience made up, above all, of tourists, the artist opened a YouTube channel, in which she shared these versions, with the objective, undoubtedly successfully accomplished, of carving out a niche for herself in The world of music. Later, she began the Audiovisual Communication degree in Murcia, but soon abandoned these studies to continue with her vital purpose in the artistic sector.

It was then that Peluso moved to the Spanish capital. There, the singer herself went weekly to the Rastro in Madrid, where she and she performed both her own versions and her own songs for the spectators who were walking between the stalls at that time. Shortly after, the street artist became known among customers and vendors, loyal to the weekly appointment every Sunday. Also from the capital, the singer began studies in physical theater at the Rey Juan Carlos University.

Although she wanted to specialize in visual arts and dance pedagogy, Nathy Peluso also dropped out of this academic degree. After this decision, she moved to Barcelona, ​​the city where she still lives. From the Catalan capital, the artist continued fully in the world of music. Starting in 2017, the year in which she released Esmeralda, her first compilation album, she manages to dedicate herself fully to what she has always been her vocation. At this very moment she composes and publishes the single Corashe, which marks her career.

In 2018 he released the album La Sandunguera, with which he appeared on stages at important festivals, within a tour of Europe and Latin America consisting of more than 100 concerts. From here, Nathy Peluso gains in popularity, and consolidates his career with the publication of singles. One of them is Business Woman, from 2020, a preview of her next album. This theme is followed by No Se Perdon, in collaboration with Rels B and Buenos Aires, a song acclaimed by the public and critics that received multiple awards and a Latin Grammy nomination. In this edition of the contest, Nathy Peluso was also nominated in the category of best new artist.
