My first festival, big cinema for the little ones in the house

My first festival returns for its fifteenth edition to theaters in Barcelona and Madrid with a selection of 116 films from different parts of the world. From Canada to Japan, this consolidated children's film competition for boys and girls from 2 to 12 years old has more than 28 countries represented through a unique, creative and unprecedented type of cinema in Spain.

With a participatory spirit, Mi primer festival advocates turning the small audience into the real protagonist through complementary activities to the projections of films and short films: voting, creation workshops or cineforums are among the proposals this year.

In addition, the exhibition, which takes place from November 5 to 20, will have 40 school sessions that will bring more than 6,000 students from the infant and primary stages of Barcelona and Madrid to discover other ways of thinking and feeling the world around them. .

In Barcelona, ​​the venues where the films will be shown are the French Institute of Barcelona, ​​the Filmoteca de Catalunya, Bosque Multicines, Verdi Park, Cines Girona, the CCCB and the Sant Martí Auditorium. In Madrid, the screenings will be divided between the Mk2 Cine Paz, Cine Doré | Spanish Film Library and Condeduque.

The family leisure show starts on Saturday at 11.30 at the French Institute with Oink! and the director of photography of the film, Peter Mansfelt, will be present. This weekend you can see pieces such as the Cartoon classics, animated films of all time; the short Operació Pare Noel or Talent Km 0, with the presence of stop motion animator Irene Iborra.

The animation continues the following weekend, November 12-13, with a film concert, a short film competition for over four years old and feature films such as Fortune smiles at Lady Nikuko or Yuku i la flor de l'Himalaia.

The festival will close its edition on the weekend of November 19 to 20 with the session at the CCCB of Petits experiments, intended for people with autism and the films El petit Nicolàs; Komaneko, the curious cat; Gabi, from 8 to 13 years old and The beauty of life.
