Musk recommends voting Republican in mid-term elections

At the first change, Elon Musk's duster has been seen. The richest man in the world, who had already announced last May that he would give his support to the conservatives, entered the campaign on Monday asking from Twitter that Americans vote for the Republicans on Tuesday.

A few days ago the owner of Tesla (electric cars) and Space X (space rockets) took over the property of his new toy, the chirping bird social network. He paid 44,000 million dollars, an exaggerated price according to experts in view of the poor economic results. But it has already become clear, these same specialists assure, that the business is secondary and that Musk was seeking to obtain the services of a company that, despite its poor performance in terms of benefits, offers him a great loudspeaker of political and media influence.

All the fears that he would use the social network to interfere personally materialized with the tweet he issued this Monday, where he encouraged voting for the conservatives.

“To independent-minded voters: Power sharing curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting Republican for Congress, given that the presidency is Democratic,” he wrote.

His recommendation is no less a continuation of the message he issued in May. “I have voted overwhelmingly Democrat, historically. I'm not sure but maybe I've never voted Republican, to be clear. But I will do it in this election, ”he maintained then.

Very few believed in this statement. In fact, his proposal to buy and the completion of the offer to take over Twitter was always highly celebrated by conservatives, who saw Musk as one of their own. The new owner alleges the defense of freedom of expression to prevent the spread of hate speech, coup conspiracies and the great lie that Donald Trump won the elections in November 2020.

Since he became master of Twitter, Musk has not stopped sowing confusion and creating controversy, either because of his political interference, or because of the management of his new company, where he has sowed confusion with massive layoffs and a subsequent partial retreat before the need to manage the platform.
