Musk imposes 12-hour shifts, seven days a week, on Twitter

The networks are full of memes in which Twitter is parodied under the command of Elon Musk. There is the new owner on the back of the trilling bird, turned into a smoking plane while the passengers parachute.

That image explains the mass exodus of employees that has caused Twitter staff to be working far longer hours than usual since Musk took over. According to internal reports revealed by CNBC, twelve-hour shifts have been imposed, seven days a week. This gives a weekly average of 84 hours, which clashes with the ideas of reducing working days to four.

This has led to videos in which workers are seen sleeping in the office. In fact, the owner himself assured that he slept in his office, on the floor, due to the assumed workload.

This type of communication increased as of Friday, when there were more than 1,200 casualties in response to the ultimatum issued by Musk and which ended on Thursday. The new owner gave a margin of 24 hours to commit to doing a piece job or accept compensation of three months' salary and leave.

Musk took a grievance with his initiative. The resignation option was very well received among the engineers, well above the calculations made by the head of the social network.

Then he opened, via tweet, a recruitment process for anyone who knew "some software and programming."

And, in parallel, Musk is considering laying off even more people, after cutting the payroll of 7,700 by 50% the day he took ownership for 44,000 million dollars. To this we must add the managers and workers who undertook the exodus by the owner's methodology.

This other cut, which could take place as of this Monday, is another maneuver to try to reduce expenses in the face of the company's negative numbers.

It would affect advertising and collaboration staff. These sources indicated that Musk required the heads of those areas, Robin Wheeler (marketing and sales) and Maggie Suniewick (sponsorships), to apply the scissors on Friday. The two lost their jobs, added those sources quoted by CNBC.

The staff that follow are scared of the possibility of being fired if they do not meet the objectives set.
