Muelles y Primaveraes Bosch expects to increase production and grow abroad

Its compression, torsion and traction springs and special parts, made with steel, copper or custom alloys, are strategic curves. “Docks are essential in all industrial sectors. They are from a hair clip to a playground. Our differential point is that we provide added value because we manufacture a tailor-made suit, depending on the needs of each SME”. It is one of the strengths of Muelles y Primaveras Bosch, a factory founded in Sabadell in 1957 by Antoni Bosch, the father of the current manager, Alícia Bosch, second generation.

Throughout 65 years and despite past crises (in 2008 they had a bad time, but they did not do any ERE) it has been growing, with a clear focus: "pamper the customer". “For this reason, we have specialized in an industrial service, with small and medium series, with the advice of the technical office. Contact with the client is fluid and personalized. Our motto is: the special is our specialty and to be rigorously flexible”, points out the directive. It has a portfolio of 2,500 clients from industrial sectors as varied as the automotive, machinery, construction, health, pharmaceutical or agri-food sectors, among many others.

To contextualize, the manager states that in Spain there are "about 70 companies that manufacture springs, of which 70% are in Catalonia and, of these, 90% in the province of Barcelona", explains Bosch, who is also president of the Center Metal·lúrgic de Sabadell, an employer association that welcomes more than 1,700 Catalan companies in the metallurgical sector.

In 2021, the firm manufactured more than six million units and the forecast is to "end 2022 with an increase of more than 15%". Last year the turnover closed with 700,000 euros and this year it is expected to reach 800,000 euros, "but we must take into account the increase in the cost of raw materials and energy," he warns. It exports 3% of its production to France, Portugal and Germany, with the intention of expanding sales abroad. Muelles y Primaveraes Bosch has a staff of eight employees, all with technical training, and under strict ISO 9001 quality control. “For a couple of years we have had an agreement with the Escola Industrial de Sabadell and we welcome a the dual FP and here we extend the training”.

It all started in a small workshop. “My father studied at this Escola Industrial, he worked in Barcelona as a production manager and when he saw the opportunity, he established himself on his own”, recalls Bosch. Over time, and manufacturing the machinery themselves, they had the Hermetic Unit of Sabadell as their main client, which made compressors. The manager, who studied law, took over the family in 1997.
