Mourinho banned for four games for his attitude in the Europa League final

The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee on Wednesday imposed a four-match ban on Roma coach José Mourinho for his behavior in the Europa League final played in Budapest on May 31 against Sevilla, which he took the title on penalties (1-1/4-1). The Portuguese rebuked the referee in the parking lot after the game ended.

UEFA opened a disciplinary procedure after the match on June 2 and has closed it with the sanction of the coach of the Italian club for insulting/abusive language against a match official; plus a fine of 50,000 euros for improper conduct by the team and another in the same amount for lighting flares, throwing objects and public incidents and damage to the stadium.

The Roman team will not be able to sell tickets to their fans for the next game they play at home in European competition and will also have to contact the Hungarian Football Federation, to take charge of repairing the damage caused by their fans in seats, windows, bins, containers and plugs.
