New blow against marijuana production in Catalonia, which has become the hotbed of this drug in Europe, with industrialized production. This time it was in a flat in l'Hospitalet de Llobregat, where these types of police operations are not unusual and are carried out from time to time.
The Mossos d'Esquadra and the Urban Guard of the second city of Catalonia have dismantled a flat in the Pubilla Cases neighborhood with more than 300 marijuana plants in the flowering stage, as they explained this Thursday in a statement.
The joint operation between police forces was carried out on September 22 and continued this Wednesday. First, the plantation was dismantled. The electrical installations had been tampered with despite the risk of fire and the property was equipped with everything necessary to produce marijuana.
Secondly, on September 27, investigators located the person responsible for the plantation, who was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health and electricity fraud.
According to the Mossos, the value of the plantation on the illegal market is approximately 30,000 euros. The investigation began during the month of August. The neighbors were inconvenienced by the plantation, which generated unbearable heat in the adjacent homes, as well as a strong smell.
