More than half of Spaniards, specifically 54%, are considering changing companies in 2023, according to a LinkedIn study carried out among almost 1,100 workers. The social network of professionals points out in this report that economic uncertainty has generated a social, economic and labor change that has resulted "in a greater demand on the part of professionals in terms of the conditions and benefits of their jobs".

34% of workers state that they feel more confident leaving their current job to face new challenges and 56% trust their abilities when it comes to finding another job.

According to LinkedIn, as the cost of living skyrockets, professionals are looking for greater financial stability and new roles that offer them a better salary (34%), a balance between their personal and professional lives (31%), as well as having more opportunities for growth and personal development (25%). In the same way, 15% aspire to hold a position that has a positive impact on society.

Ángel Sáenz de Cenzano, general director of LinkedIn Spain and Portugal, explained to Europa Press that, since the pandemic, professionals adapt more quickly to crisis situations and are increasingly aware of what they contribute to their company and team. “Hence the increase in their confidence when it comes to aspiring to a position with more responsibility or looking for a new job (...) Workers continue to value such important aspects as a higher salary or more labor flexibility. There are also many who are taking the reins of their career and are committed to investing in the development and recycling of their professional skills,” said the person in charge of the social network.

LinkedIn data reveals that professionals continue to demand remote work offers and seek greater well-being, a trend that grew “exponentially” after the pandemic. Currently, half of workers say that, faced with a new job opportunity or promotion that requires them to be in the office full time, they would reject it in favor of a hybrid work policy, a proportion that rises to 64% among workers. workers between the ages of 18 and 24, the so-called “generation Z”.

This age group is precisely the one that leads the trend to change jobs, according to LinkedIn, since almost seven out of ten workers between the ages of 18 and 24 are willing to leave their current position for another that is more convenient for them, a percentage of 14 points. above average. In the case of those over 55 years of age, this percentage drops to 30%, making them the most reluctant generation to change jobs.

In the same way, the professionals of the younger generation affirm that they feel full confidence in their abilities and aptitudes to find a better position (32%). Even so, many of them continue to redouble their efforts in their current position to maintain their position (31%) and assure that they are assuming more responsibilities (28%), the report concludes.
