More than 300,000 people have registered on the Renfe website to obtain the free commuter, Rodalí and mid-distance transport passes announced by the Government for the last quarter of the year in order to combat the effects of inflation and the rise in fuel price.

This was announced at the press conference after the Council of Ministers by Raquel Sánchez, head of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda, who highlighted that it is a measure that benefits families, workers and students, and highlighted its environmental efficiency due to the less use of private transport that it will imply.

Train tickets can be purchased from this Wednesday, once those interested have registered on the website of the public railway company, and can be purchased throughout the validity of the measure, between September 1 and December 31. next December, on Renfe's own website, in applications, at ticket offices or in self-service machines.

Sánchez assured that with this measure, in Madrid, a couple with two children who travel from the outskirts of the capital will save 600 euros in the September-December period. In Barcelona, the savings will be 750 euros and in Seville or Valencia it will rise to 1,000 euros.

For this reason, the minister challenged the PP and its leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, to consider "if they are going to vote against these measures that have a positive impact on families." “It is time to pitch in and support workers and families,” she added.

The 100% bonuses are aimed at recurring users who make at least 16 trips in the four months that the measure lasts, as stated in the royal decree law whose validation will be voted on Thursday by the Congress of Deputies. Avant vouchers and AVE services whose travel time is less than 100 minutes have a 50% discount, and can be purchased from September 1.

To speed up the acquisition of passes, Renfe points out that prior registration through mobile applications or web pages is convenient, although those who have not registered can acquire the ticket at the sales offices or self-service machines at Renfe stations, presenting your NIF, NIE or passport, since the subscriptions are personal and non-transferable.

To acquire the season ticket, although it is free, it is necessary to deposit a deposit of 10 euros for each Cercanías and Rodalies nucleus, and 20 euros for each conventional medium-distance service.
